Who are we?
Summit Wushu Academy was opened in 2012 by brothers Phillip and Peter Dang. With 25 years of experience of training and previously representing the United States National Wushu Team on the World stage, some of their students have also achieved awards in both national and international competitions.
Sifu Phillip is now working in stunts in the film industry and can be seen in recent films such as The Paper Tigers and Mulan. The school is currently led by Sifu Peter, who teaches out of his passion to spread the art and joy of Wushu.
What is wushu?
“Wushu”, also known as Kungfu, is the Chinese term for “martial arts”. Its movements combine speed, power, and flexibility with grace and precision. Wushu is a rising international competitive sport, officially making its debut at the Youth Olympics in Dakar, 2022. It can also be seen in popular films such as Kung Fu Panda, Shang-Chi, The Matrix, and practiced by notable stars such as Jet Li and Donnie Yen.
